WHAT IS LEGAL EXPENSES INSURANCE?
Legal expenses insurance is designed to protect your business against a arrange of common legal issues, including things like employment disputes, health & safety criminal prosecutions and property disputes.
What specifically does the Policy cover?
The Policy provides cover for up to £50,000 of legal fees in respect of the following sections of cover:
- Employment disputes
- Criminal prosecution defence
- Jury service allowance
- Property disputes
- Data protection
- Personal injury
- Debt recovery
- Restrictive covenants
- Wrongful arrest defence
Full details of the cover provided under each of the above sections can be viewed in the Policy documents and we recommend that you read these prior to purchasing cover.
WHO WILL REPRESENT ME?
Rhino have their own in-house legal representatives who can represent you in the event of a claim against the Policy.
WHAT EXCLUSIONS APPLY TO THE POLICY?
As with any insurance Policy some exclusions and restrictions apply and we recommend that you read the full Policy terms and conditions before purchasing cover. In particular, the Policy will not cover claims that arise within the first 90 days of the Policy cover, unless you have renewed your Policy from another provider and can provide evidence of this.
Also, it is important that where you have an issue with an employee that could lead to a claim against the Policy, it is important that you contact our advice line as soon as possible and follow the advice given through-out. Failure to do so could invalidate any claim against the Policy.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT THE POLICY WILL PAY OUT?
The Policy will pay out a maximum of £50,000 for any one claim and in the aggregate for all claims made during the Policy Period. That is with the exception of Jury Service claims which are limited to £100 per day up to a maximum of £1,000 per claim.
WHAT IS THE EXCESS ON THE POLICY?
There is no Excess on the Policy.
WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT TERMS?
You can choose to pay in full for 12 months or on a rolling monthly payment basis.
ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL BENEFITS INCLUDED WITHIN THIS POLICY?
The Policy also provides telephone access to our Business Support Lines where our advisors can provide support and advice on any tax, VAT, employment, health & safety and legal issues your business may encounter. Note that where you have a potential issue that could lead to a claim against this Policy we recommend that you contact our Business Support lines as soon as possible.
In particular if you have a dispute of potential issue with an employee that could lead to a claim against the Policy, it is a condition of any claim that you contact our advice line as soon as possible and follow the advice given through-out. Failure to do so may invalidate any claim against the Policy.
